Clarice Ann Pelan, 55

Services for Clarice Ann Pelan, 55, who died January 1, 1993 at her brother’s home in Columbus, Nebraska after a battle with cancer were Monday, January 4 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Brainard, Nebraska. Rev. Stephen Cooney officiated. Burial was in Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery.

Clarice Ann Pelan was born October 4, 1937 in Butler County near Brainard, Nebraska to Louis and Tonie Busek Pelan. She attended school in Butler County District No. 48 and graduated from Brainard High School in 1955.

Following graduation, she worked briefly at Mutual of Omaha. She then moved to New York City where she was employed at Broadcast Music Incorporated. She returned to Omaha in 1962 where she worked at Employers Mutual Casualty Company.

Because of declining health, she moved to Columbus in 1985 to be near her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by two sisters, Donna L. Larsen of Vancouver, Washington and formerly of Blair and Phyllis Pabian of Schuyler, Nebraska; three brothers, Gary L. Pelan of Columbus, Michael Pelan of Houston, Texas and Lynn Pelan of Oakland, Nebraska and five nieces and nephews. LeRoy Larsen, a former brother-in-law of Blair and other family members also live in the Blair/Washington County area. Casket bearers were Jeff Pabian, Lumir Ratkovec, Ted Coufal, James Pelan, Leonard Polivka and Ernie Sabata. LaVonne Behne was organist. Palmquist-Pelan Funeral Home in Oakland was in charge of arrangements.
