Tonie Pelan’s Services Are Held

Funeral services for Tonie Pelan, 68, who died August 14, 1983, at Community Hospital in Columbus, Nebraska, following a two year illness were held Wednesday, August 17, at Kucera-Rozanek Chapel with the Rev. George Kilmer officiating. Her body was donated to the Creighton Medical Center.

Tonie Pelan was born February 21, 1915, in Touhy, Nebraska, to John and Antonia Weverka Busek. She attended school in Valparaiso and Wahoo.

She married Louis Pelan on May 1, 1934, in Touhy, Nebraska. She was a homemaker.

She had lived in Schulyer for 18 years and had lived ten years in Linwood. Before that she had lived in the Tougy and Brainard areas.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis, June 12, 1978; her parents; and three sisters.

She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. LeRoy (Donna) Larsen of Blair, Mrs. George (Phyllis) Pabian of Schuyler and Miss Clarice Pelan of Omaha; and three sons, Gary Pelan of Schuyler, Michael Pelan of Lincoln and Lynn Pelan of Columbus. Five grand-children; and two sisters, Mrs. Josie Coufal of David City and Mrs. Max (Gerry) Barry of Grand Island, also survive her.

Pallbearers were Gordon Ratkovec, Lumir Ratkovec, Leonard Polivka, Theodore Coufal, Ernest Sabatka, and Edward Stucklik, Jr.

Mrs. Eugene Dostal and Mr. Luther Bakenhus provided the music.
