PAULSEN, Mildred Lorraine age 94 of Gretna, NE. formerly of Blair will be fondly remembered as a very loving and generous wife, mother and grandmother, who passed away on December 1, 2006. Mildred was born on January 16, 1912 to George and Myrtle (Wright) Nelsen in Kennard, Ne. She attended grade school in Kennard and went on to attend Blair High School where she met her husband of 72 years, Harry Paulsen of Blair. They married May 29, 1929 in Blair and started their life of farming in the Blair area. They moved to Cozad and started a Ben Franklin store, then left after 4 years and moved back to Ft. Calhoun where they farmed and Harry started his long time career as a realtor. Mildred during this time worked at the downtown Goldstein Chapmanā€™s as a store clerk and then went to work at Wilkinson factory in Ft. Calhoun while they both continued farming on the land which is now known as the Boyer Chute National Wildlife Refuge. After they sold their land to the Federal Government, they moved from their farm to their home in Blair in 1993. In later years they moved to the Good Shepherd Assisted Living, where Harry passed away on January 23, 2002. Mildred then moved to Silver Ridge Assisted Living in Gretna, Ne. to be near to her family. Mildred will be remembered by her friends and family, as always loving to dance and play cards. She is preceded in death by her sister, Leola, who recently passed away on November 20, 2006, her parents, brother Clyde and sister Vera. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Pat Paulsen, Omaha, NE., grandchildren, Lezlie (Bob) McPherson, Teri (Del) Andresen and Tracy Paulsen (friend-Darla Schaff). Great-grandchildren, Ted (Melissa) Greguska, Tara (Chad) Peterson, Karl Andresen, Carter and Reed Paulsen, great-great-grandchildren, Jack, Sam, Thea Greguska and Mack Peterson, step-grand-children, Amos, Chavalan and Zach McPherson.

Services 10:30 AM Monday, First Lutheran Church in Blair. Burial in the Blair Cemetery. Visitation will begin 11 AM Sunday with family receiving friends from 4 to 7 PM. Memorials may be directed to First Lutheran Church.
