Mrs. Matson Services Held

Arlington Woman, 66, Died Monday; Services Held There Wednesday

Mrs. Minnie A. Matson, 66, who had returned to Arlington only five weeks ago after residing a year in Fremont, died early Monday at the home of her sister, Mrs. F. E. Webb. She had been ill several months.

Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon at the Congregational church in Arlington, interment following at Madison, Nebr.

Mrs. Matson is survived by one son, Floyd R. Haight of Fremont; a brother, I. F. McKay, Eldora, Ia.; and the sister, Mrs. Webb. Her husband, Fred Matson, preceded her in death.

ARLINGTON - funeral services for Mrs. Minnie A. Matson were held on Wednesday afternoon of last week at 1:30 p.m. from the Congregational church with the Rev. R. J. Toms officiating.

Mrs. Matson had been in failing health for several months, and for the past five weeks had been at the home of her sister, Mrs. F. E. Webb, where she passed away early on Monday.

Born at Weeping Water in 1877 she went with her parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank McKay of Stuart, to a homestead in Holt County when a small child. Later she also lived at Clarks and Plainview where she and her late husband lived on a farm. After his death in 1935 she lived at Wayne, Fremont and Arlington.

She is survived by a son, Floyd R. Haight of Fremont, two stepdaughters, three granddaughters, one great grandson, one sister, Mrs. F. E. Webb, one brother, S. F. McKay of Newton, Ia., and one daughter, Mrs. J. E. Carr.

Therlo Reckmeyer sang “The End of a Perfect Day” and “In The Garden” with Mrs. Alice Newcom accompanying.

Pallbearers were W. E. Webb, H. C. McClellan, Harley Appleby, Tom Dowell, Harry Osterman and Leonard Thompson. Burial was made at Madison.
