Former Blairite Dies In Colorado

Word Received Here Of Death of Hans Hansen At Colorado Springs

Mrs. Clarence Houghton of this city received word of the death of her step-father, Hans Hansen of Colorado Springs, Colorado, on Tuesday. Mr. Hansen had recently suffered a paralytic stroke. He is a former Blair resident, having moved from here about 20 years ago. While here Mr. Hansen was engaged in the dwelling business.

Mr. Hansen is survived by his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Van Sutton, a son, Fred Hansen of Julesburg, Colorado, another son, Robert Hansen of Onawa, Iowa; his step-children, Mrs. Fred Pfeiffer of Chappel, Nebraska, Mrs. Jessie Loughlin and Mrs. Clarence Houghton of Blair. Mrs. Loyal Lowden of Herrick, South Dakota, James Kirk of Big Springs, Nebraska; one sister, Mrs. Mads Madsen of Lake Crystal, Minnesota, and one half-brother, Martin Hansen of Florence, Nebraska.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at Big Springs, Colorado.

Former Blair Man Dies In Colorado

Hans Hansen, a resident of Blair around twenty-two years ago, died in the hospital at Colorado Springs on February 8 at the age of 72 years. He had been in failing health for some time recently suffered a paralytic stroke, which was the immediate cause of his death.

Mr. Hansen, when he resided here, was in the well drilling business and had a wide acquaintance over the county.

He leaves to mourn him his wife and two daughters and two sons and one sister, also a number of step-children, among whom are Mrs. Clarence Houghton and Mrs. Jessie Lauglin, both of this city.

Burial was made in Colorado Springs.

Note: The Vig notes at the Danish American Archives has his date of birth as March 31, 1866 and being born in Kragelund Fyn, Denmark. On August 17, 1904 he was married to Susan Emily Kirk
