Helen M. Petersen, 85, of Omaha, died Saturday, Dec. 16, 2000, at Maple Crest Health Care Center in Omaha.

Graveside services were held Wednesday, Dec. 20, at the Germany Cemetery.

Helen M. Petersen was born Jan. 25, 1915 in rural Blair to Bill and Greta (Kalke) Jahnel. In October, 1934, she was married to Wallace L. Petersen in Blair. Mrs. Petersen worked at Immanuel Hospital in Omaha for 10 years.

She is survived by a son, Wallace W. “Wally” Petersen of Omaha, a daughter and son-in-law, Joan and Wallace Benke of Blair, a sister, Margaret Maraldo of Vista, Calif, and six grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, two sisters, Marion Fedde and Bertha Henricksen, and a brother, Frank Jahnel.

Kremer Funeral Home in Omaha was in charge of arrangements.
