Clarence H Schneekloth, 89

Blair native Clarence H. Schneekloth, 89, of Fremont, died Sunday, July 25, 2004, at the A.J.Merrick Manor in Fremont.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday , July 28, at First Lutheran Church in Fremont. Interment will be in Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation is from 1 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday at Ludvigsen Mortuary in Fremont, with the family receiving friends from 7 to 8 p.m.

Clarence H. Schneekloth was born Jan. 21, 1915, in Blair to Otto and Cecelia (Wulf) Schneekloth. He grew up on the family farm between Blair and Bennington.

On Nov. 9, 1938, he married Viola Voss in Bennington. They farmed in the Fort Calhoun and Blair area until moving to a farm northwest of Fremont in 1950. In 1971, the Schneekloths moved into Fremont.

Mr. Schneekloth worked as a grain inspector and sealer for the Dodge County ASCS. He also worked for the former Wells Commission Co. (sale barn) in Fremont; Fremont Rental; and for several years for Ludvigsen Mortuary.

He was a member of First Lutheran Church, the Fremont Eagles Aerie 200 and its REACT group, and was a member of the Golden ‘K’ Kiwanis Club.

He is survived by four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Norman and Helen Schneekloth of Seymour, Wis.; two sisters-in-law, Anna Knutzen of Omaha, and Maxine and Louis Nielsen of Kennard.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Viola, in May of 2004.

Memorials are suggested to First Lutheran Church, the German Cemetery, and to the Fremont Area Medical Center Foundation.
