Delores Rose Jensen, 84, formerly of Tekamah, died Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013, at Oakland Mercy Hospital in Oakland.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Tekamah. Interment will be in the Tekamah Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday with family receiving friends at Pelan Funeral Home in Tekamah and at the church one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.

Delores was born July 21, 1929, in Omaha. The daughter of Charles and Winifred (Harrison) Mueller, she was baptized and confirmed at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Tekamah. She attended and graduated from Tekamah High School.

On Nov. 30, 1946, she married A. Russell Jensen at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church parsonage. They farmed northwest of Tekamah and later moved into Tekamah in 1992.

She worked 17 years in the Burt County Assessor’s office.

She was the Past Worthy Matron and Supervisor of OES, Decatur; Guardian of Job’s Daughters, Bethel 36, Decatur; was a 4-H leader and president of the Extension Club Council; and was honored as Homemaker of the Year for Burt County.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Cheryl (Gary) Micek and Trudie Craven, all of Omaha, and Elizabeth (John) Kjeldgaard of Tekamah; her son and daughter-in-law, A. Russell (Marilee) Jensen Jr. of Omaha; sister-in-law Lillian Mueller of Oakland; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, A. Russell; brother Charles “Chuck” Mueller; and son-in-law Charles F. Craven.
