Mrs. John Meeves Buried Thurs. At German Cemetery

Funeral services were held last Thursday afternoon for Mrs. John Meeves, long-time farm resident of the south part of Washington County. Mrs. Meeves was 77 years old.

Mrs. Meeves was born in Douglas County May 7, 1893. Before her marriage she was Anna C. Steinert and the Steinert farm place was a short distance from the farm home which she and her husband have maintained for many years.

She was married to John Meeves at her parents’ home, Chris Steinerts. They have spent their entire married life in the same vicinity and have lived on the same farm for more than 40 years. Mr. and Mrs. Meeves celebrated their Golden Wedding anniversary in March, 1966.

She is survived by her husband and by two daughters. They are Mrs. Bernard E. Friel (Elsie) of Kansas City, Missouri and Mrs. Clifford Buns of Omaha. There are two granddaughters, Patricia and Renee Bunz, of Omaha.

Two brothers survive. They are George Steinert, of Fremont and John Steinert of Laguna Hills, California. There are four sisters Mrs. Marie Glo, Mrs. Dan Timperley and Mrs. L. A. Nelson, all of Omaha and Mrs. Jess Timperley, of Spalding, Nebraska.

Services were held Thursday at 2 o’clock from St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bennington and interment was made in the German Cemetery in the south part of Washington County.
