Merlin E. Roberts, 78, of Renton, Wash., died April 12, 2007, while recovering from a stroke suffered in his home on March 30.

Services were held April 16 at Greenwood Funeral Home in Renton. Interment was in Greenwood Memorial Park.

Merlin Eugene “Bob” Roberts was born Jan. 20, 1929, in Arlington. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army, where he served a four-year term, seeing action in the Korean Conflict. He moved his family to the Puget Sound area in 1956, after returning from active duty.

He was a 50-year resident of Renton, and was a retiree of the Boeing Company, where he worked for more than 30 years as a quality control supervisor.

He enjoyed spending his retired years with neighborhood friends and family, and he was an avid financial investor.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Lorraine; son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Marty Roberts of Renton; and four grandchildren.
