Ray S. Roberts, 74, of Omaha died Monday, Feb. 8, 1999.

Services were Wednesday, Feb. 10, at Sievers-Sprick Funeral Home. Pastor Michael Knudson, from Trinity Lutheran Church in Omaha, conducted the service.

Pallbearers were Rob Morris, Scott Morris, David Livingston, Jeremy Givens, Aaron Brown, Kevin Brown, and Zacharly Fuhrman.

Burial was in the Fort Calhoun Cemetery.

Ray S. Roberts was born Oct. 18, 1924 to Guy Roberts and Mertie (Martis) Roberts in Arcada, Colo.

He attended high school in Lewellen.

On Dec., 7, 1944, he married Berneice Edsall and worked as a general contractor in residential construction. He received military honors by American Legion Post 348 of Fort Calhoun. His hobbies were fishing and hunting and he will be remembered for his kindness and generosity.

He is survived by six daughters and sons-in-law, Connie and Carl Fuhrman, Shirley and Bill Livingston, Karen and John Givens, Sharon and Robert Morris, Tamie Brown, and Sandy Roberts; two sons and daughters-in law, Ray S. (Butch) and Julia (Kathy) Roberts, Jr., and Terry and Teri Roberts; 10 granddaughters, 10 grandsons; 9 great-grandchildren; four sists, Barbara, Carol, Marilyn and Patty; five brothers, Bud, Charles, Dale, Dick, and Myron. He is preceded in death by his parents, Guy and Mertie Roberts, and is sister, Pauline. Sievers-Sprick Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
