George Pelnar, 68

George Pelnar, 68, of Blair, died Monday, May 21, 2001, at Methodist Hospital in Omaha.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 25, at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair. Interment will be at the Blair Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. on Thursday, May 24.

George J. Pelnar was born Nov. 23, 1932 in Omaha to Joseph and Marguerite (Barton) Pelnar. He attended school in Omaha and in January 1950, entered the Navy and served until he was discharged in 1953.

He married Rayella Anders, who died in 1983.

On Sept. 4, 1984, he married Joan Marsh at Elk Point, S.D.

Mr. Pelnar worked for Omaha Pubic Power District as Shift Supervisor of Operations for 37 years, retiring in 1990. He was a member of the Blair VFW, American Legion and Fraternal Order of Eagles. He was past Vice Commander of the Blair American Legion.

He is survived by his wife, Joan, son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Cory Pelnar, and daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Carl Tolles, all of Omaha; daughters and sons-in-law, Pam and Mick Ellis of Blair and Cathy and Jerry Coble of Patterson, Texas, and son and daughter-in-law, LeRoy and Julie Gilbert of Henderson, Colo.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
