M. Lyman Perkins

Services for M. Lyman Perkins, 66, Blair, who died June 25, 1985, at Veterans Hospital in Omaha, will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Campbell Funeral Home. The Rev. Debra Thompsett will officiate and burial will be in the Blair Cemetery.

Perkins was born Oct. 27, 1918, in Harrodsburg, Ken., the son of Erie and Alice Perkins. He married Roberta Reeh, Dec. 19, 1947, at Dekalb, Ill.

Perkins attended school in Dekalb, served in the Army during World War II, was captured in Germany and was a P.O.W for five and a half months.

Perkins moved to Blair in 1974 and operated Perk’s Tavern until his retirement if February of 1983.

He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, American Legion Post No. 66 of Dekalb, member of the VFW in Rochelle, Ill. and he was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Blair.

He is survived by his wife of Blair; one son, Hank Gregory of Wheaton, Ill.; one daughter, Linda Jacobson of Davis, Ill.; one brother, Ray Perkins of Dekalb; three sisters, Louise Baars, Faye Miller, both of Dekalb, and Sadie Traynor of Harrodsburg, Ken.; and eight grandchildren.
