Anita M. Mehrens, 90

Anita M. Mehrens, 90, of Fort Calhoun, died Sept. 29, 2001, at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, at the Fort Calhoun Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Gregg Miller officiating.

Anita M. Mehrens was born Jan. 1, 1911, at their farm home in rural Fort Calhoun to Claus and Dora Mehrens.

Anita attended school in Fort Calhoun, and after graduating, she attended the University of Nebraska, majoring in home economics. She devoted 33 ½ years teaching, retiring from the state of California in 1966.

She spent the last two years at the Clara Ellen Assisted Living facility in Fort Calhoun.

Memorials are suggested to Fort Calhoun Presbyterian Church or the Washington County Historical Association Museum.
