Joanne Knoell, 84, of Fremont, formerly of Arlington, died Sunday, Oct. 27, 2013, at Nye Legacy Health and Rehab in Fremont.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 1, at Arlington Community Church, UCC, in Arlington. Interment will be 2 p.m. Friday in Memorial Cemetery in Fremont.

Visitation is 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m., all at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont.Visitation will continue one hour prior to the church service on Friday.

Joanne Hunteman was born Jan. 13, 1929, in rural Hooper, to George and Alice (Hoefner) Hunteman. She graduated from Hooper High School.

She married Loren D. Knoell on October 2, 1949, in Hooper.

They moved to Valley and then to Cedar Bluffs. In 1967, they moved to Arlington.

Mr. Knoell died February 2, 1988.

Mrs. Knoell moved to Fremont in 1988.

She worked at Hawkinson Music, Sonin's Men's Clothing and as a dental assistant at Dr. Ulbrick's office.

She was a member of the Arlington Community Church, UCC in Arlington.

She is survived by her son, Wayne (Cheryl) Knoell, of Omaha; her daughter, Linda (Doug) Liehs of O'Fallon, Mo.; sisters Georgean Cunningham of Mt. Vernon, Ohio, and Carol Oerman of Fontanelle; four grandchildren: Mackenzie (Justin) Farr of Gretna, Jared (Jill) Knoell of Omaha, Lori Liehs and fiancé Jason Koogler of St. Louis, Mo., and Megan Liehs of Chicago, Ill.; great-grandchild Jackson Farr of Gretna.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Loren "Toodie" Knoell.

Memorials may be given to Arlington Community Church, UCC, in Arlington, or Gentiva Hospice.
