Services Held On Monday For Dora Mehrens

Funeral services were Monday, December 22, at 2 p.m. at the Fort Calhoun Presbyterian Church for Dora B. Mehrens who died December 20, 1980, at Good Shepherd Home in Blair. Rev. William Mulford conducted the services. Burial was in the Fort Calhoun Cemetery.

Dora B. Mehrens was born April 12, 1890 in Kennard, to W. H. and Mary Wilcox Epling. She lived most of her life in the Fort Calhoun area, farming with her husband west of Fort Calhoun for many years. She also worked in Blair for many years. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Fort Calhoun and a member of the Fort Calhoun Women’s Club.

She is survived by one daughter, Anita Mehrens, of Fort Calhoun; one sister, Katie Mehrens, of Good Shepherd Home in Blair; and one brother Frank Massard, of Ouray, Colorado. Nieces, nephew and cousins also survive her.

Pallbearers were Harry Lund, Glenn Lund, Albert Ohrt, Alvin Ohrt, Otto Iverson and Emil Fuhrman.

Sievers-Sprick Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements for the services.
