Services for Ruth E. Mehrens, 79 who died June 15, 1996 at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair were Wednesday, June 19 at the Campbell-Aman Funeral Home. Burial was in the Blair Cemetery.

Ruth E. Mehrens was born October 20, 1916 AT Sapulpa, Oklahoma to John and Ava Williby Wallace.

She married Peter Mehrens November 1, 1953.

They purchased Advance Cleaners in 1976 and operated it until 1984. At that time they sold it to Don Frahm.

She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie in Blair and the United Methodist Church in Blair.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter.

She is survived by two daughters, Shirley Gorman, Peoria, Arizona and Carolyn Matloff of Pomona, California; a step-daughter, Shirley Hall of Tucson, Arizona; eight grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and a brother, John Wallace of Edgar, Nebraska.
