Augusta Meier Rites Held Monday

Mrs. Augusta Meier, 85 years of age, died Friday at Immanuel Hospital in Omaha. Mrs. Meier suffered a fractured hip in February and had been in poor health the past year.

Funeral services are being held today (Monday) at Immanuel Lutheran church, (60th Avenue and Military in Benson with the Rev. R. M. Meyer officiating. Burial to follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery.

Mrs. Meier and her daughter Beulah Meier moved to Omaha from Blair several years ago and resided at 4624 North 60th Avenue. She was the widow of the late William Meier, who died May 25, 1947.

Mrs. Meier was born August 16, 1876 at Bielefeld, Germany, and came to America with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fredricke Ruwe at the age of 16 years. The family settled on a farm near Herman. Her marriage to William Meier of Arlington, took place at St. Johns Church of Vacoma. They lived on a farm near Telbasta until 1914 when they moved to Blair.

Mrs. Meier was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Blair until moving to Omaha.

Nephews served as pallbearers. They were August and Leland Ruwe, Alvin and Velmar Katt and Clarence and Clayton Brandert.
