Services For Wm. Jahnel To Be Friday

Services for William Jahnel will be held Friday afternoon, December 27, at the Bendorf Funeral Home in Blair at 1:30 P.M.

William Jahnel passed away at the age of 83 at the McBride Nursing Home. He was born on July 14, 1880 and passed away December 23, 1963.

He was the son of Frank Jahnel and Bertha Munster.

Others who preceded him in death were his wife Margaretha, a son Frank, a brother Frank and a sister Dora Craven.

Mr. Jahnel is survived by four daughters. They are Mrs. Frank Henricksen (Bertha) of Blair; Helen Petersen of Omaha; Mrs. Rymer Fedde (Marian) of Bennington; and Mrs. John Maraldo (Margaret) of Jelm, Wyoming. There are four grandchildren and four great grandchildren plus three sisters. The sisters are Mrs. Lena Anderson, Bruce, Wisconsin; Elsie Dornacker, Blair; and Rose Matthiesen, Blair. There are also two surviving brothers. They are Chris Jahnel and Fritz Jahnel, both of Blair.

William Jahnel and Margaretha Kahlke were united in marriage on December 5, 1906. They lived on the Frank Jahnel farm for 37 years before they retired in 1942. They moved to a home on Colfax street in Blair where they lived for about twenty years. He has been an Odd Fellow since 1905 of the Blair Lodge No. 14 I.O.O.F.

Reverend George Pallesen will officiate with burial in the German Cemetery under the direction of the Bendorf Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Ken Jahnel, Robert Jahnel, Walter Jahnel, Arlen Schneider, Leonard Miller and Howard Craven.
