Former Blair resident Vernon Scott Robeson, 83, of Huntsville, Ala., died Thursday, September 2, 2004. Funeral services and military graveside services were help Sept. 4, at Valhalla Funeral Home and Cemetery in Huntsville, Alabama.

Vernon Scott Robeson was born Sept. 1, 1921, to Scott and Blanche (Coe) Robeson.

He served in combat in Europe during World Was II with the 66th Infantry Division, earning a Combat Infantrymen’s badge. He graduated from University of Nebraska with a degree in mechanical engineering. In 1958, he moved to Huntsville and worked for the Army Missile Command at Redstone Arsenal until his retirement in 1974. He worked at the University of Alabama in Huntsville and at Fox Army Hospital after his retirement.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mildred Peck Robeson; daughter and son-in-law, Vicki and Dan Nash of Athens, Ala.; son and daughter-in-law, Phil and Emily Robeson of Guntersville, Ala.; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one brother, Dick Robeson of Blair.

Memorials are suggested to Tut Fann Veterans Home in Huntsville, Ala.
