Mary V. Bailey, 89, of Blair, died Saturday, June 19, 2010, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Blair.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 23, at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Tekamah Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at noon Tuesday, June 22, with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

Mary Viola Metzler was born June 10, 1921, in Burt County to Charles H. and Orpha J. (Moore) Metzler. She graduated from Tekamah High School in 1940 and attended beauty school. She was a cook, worked at McMillan Junior High School and owned and operated a home day care.

She was married to Norris Bailey; he preceded her in death in February of 1999.

She is survived by her caretaker granddaughter, Kelly Medlin; sons and daughter-in-law, Larry Bailey of Blair, Ralph and Polly Bailey of Omaha; grandchildren, Scott Bailey, Andrea Bailey, and Lucas Bailey; great-grandchildren, Melissa, Lindsie, Shane, and Maximus; brother, Roy Metzler of Blair.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister and four brothers.
