Services for Ivan Andersen, 73 of rural Blair, who died August 9, 1995 at Fremont, Nebraska after being in an auto accident were Monday, August 14 at Grace United Methodist Church in Kennard. Military graveside services were held in the Kennard Cemetery.

Ivan R. Andersen was born May 9, 1922 in rural Blair to Robbie and Jennie Matzen Andersen. He attended Sunnyside Elementary School, graduated from Kennard High School in 1939 and attended Dana College after serving in the military.

Prior to his entering the military, he was a truck driver for Elmer Wright in Kennard.

He served in the Navy during World War II from 1942-1945.

He farmed in Washington County during his entire life.

He was a member of the Kennard United Methodist Church, Arlington Veterans of Foreign Wars, Fremont Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie and was a past member of the Kennard Volunteer Fire Department.

He married Enid Rosenbaum at Kennard September 22, 1941.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his father and mother-in-law, Japp and Agnes Bates Rosenbaum; and brothers-in-law, Melvin Rosenbaum and Joe Stewart.

He is survived by his wife, Enid; two daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and Ronald Andreasen, Blair and Susan and Kerry Knoell, Lamesa California; a son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Lisa Andersen, Blair; eight grandchildren, Lisa Sutherland, Rusty Andreasen, Tim Andreasen, Shellie Rathjen, Chad Knoell, Amy Knoell, Christopher Andersen and Robbie Andersen; one great-granddaughter, Brittney Smith; several step-children; one sister, Ione (Mrs. Kenneth) White, Omaha and two sisters-in-law, Jane Stewart and Irma Christensen, both of Kennard.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
