EX-HERMANITE DIED IN LOS ANGELES; WAS SON OF LATE JOHN CAMERONS

Graveside rites were held at Herman Cemetery Sunday at 2:30 p.m. for 71-year-old John Howard Cameron, onetime Herman man and son of a well-known pioneer couple there, John H. and Ella Burdick Cameron. Mr. Cameron died Aug. 19 at Los Angeles.

Mr. Cameron was born July 12, 1883, and spent his youth on what was known as the Cameron Ranch east of Herman. He attended the Herman schools and later Boyles Business College in Omaha. Later he was employed in Omaha by the Adams Furniture Co. as a book-keeper. Later he returned to Herman and managed the ranch until his father’s death in 1927. His mother died the following year, after which he went to Los Angeles.

In Los Angeles he managed an advertising agency until World War II during which time he served in the U.S. Secret Service. Afterwards he returned to his advertising business.

Surviving him are two brothers, Charles S. Cameron of Tekamah and Max L. Cameron of Little Rock, Ark.; one nephew, Jack Cameron of Little Rock; and three nieces and five grandnieces and grandnephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents, also two brothers, Frank and Hiram.
