Memorial services will be held for Steve L. Meier, 39, of Portland, Oregon who died June 1, 1990 at Providence Hospital in Portland after a battle with cancer.

Steve L. Meier was born November 3, 1950 at Dodge County Memorial Hospital in Fremont. He graduated from Arlington and Nebraska Wesleyan College.

He was employed by Union Pacific Railroad in Omaha from 1973-1976 and transferred to Portland in 1976. Since 1984 he worked for Hampton Lumber Company in Portland as Transportation Analyst. He was part owner and manager of a group home for the mentally retarded.

He was preceded in death by his father, Milton H. Meier in 1976.

Survivors include his mother, Roma Meier of rural Herman; one brother, Marvin Meier of rural Herman; two sisters, Joyce Rabe and Mardell Wilkins, both of rural Arlington; four nieces and three nephews.

Memorials can be given to Salem Lutheran Church of Fontanelle, the American Cancer Society or the Group Home of Portland.
