Services were Monday, May 11 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Wymore, Nebraska for Marilyn Y. Roche, 51 of Wymore who died early May 7, 1992 at the Beatrice Community Hospital in Beatrice, Nebraska. Rev. Dennis Hotovy officiated. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery at Wymore.

Marilyn Y. Roche was born June 1, 1940 near Diagonal, Iowa to Harry and Irene Adams Crago. She graduated from Capital School of Hairstyling in Omaha in 1957 and married Donald Roche December 11, 1957 at Omaha. She was a cosmetologist for 22 years prior to moving to Wymore from Elk City, Nebraska in 1978 when she and her husband purchased the Gambles Our Own Hardware store in Wymore. She was still co-owner and operator of the store at the time of her death.

She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church; a member of St. Mary’s Altar Society, a member of the Wymore Chamber of Commerce and was on the Elk City District No. 8 School Board prior to moving to Wymore.

She is preceded in death by her father, Harry Crago.

She is survived by her husband, Donald Roche of Wymore; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Julie and Fred Lienemann of Herkimer, Kansas; Susie and Ron Hester of Wymore and Mary Ellen Roche of Littleton, Colorado; one son and daughter-in-law, Don and Margie Roche of Manley, Nebraska; eight grandchildren; her mother, Irene Crago of Afton, Iowa; and her brother, David Crago of Creston, Iowa.

A memorial has been established to the American Cancer Society with the funeral home in charge.

Fox Funeral Home of Wymore was in charge of arrangements
