RITES FOR MRS. SCOTT ALLEN ARE HELD FRIDAY

Adele McPherson Allen was born the 12th day of December, 1872 to Adeline and Damase McPherson at DeSoto, Nebraska, where she received her early schooling. A graduate of Blair High school in the class of 1889, she taught in the Washington county schools for many years.

She was a member of the Congregational church, having joined in (old) DeSoto in the early days. She was married to Scott Allen, a member of one of our oldest pioneer families, December 22, 1896, and to this union were born eight children, seven of whom are living.

She devoted much of her later years to her club work, being a prominent leader in the state-wide projects.

She was respected and revered by all, and there will be may indeed who will miss her valuable leadership. She passed away at their farm home in southeastern part of Washington county Wednesday, December 28th, at 10:45 a.m.

She leaves to mourn her passing, besides her husband Scott, her five sons: Walter Scott of Irvington, Nebraska; William Lloyd and John Henry of Omaha; Rollo Mark of Arlington; Mac Allen of Fort Calhoun; two daughters, Mrs. Charles Merritt of Arlington; Mrs. Irvan Cary of Los Angeles, California and one sister, Odile, Mrs. Mark DePuy, of Denver, Colorado.
