Della Christensen Rites To Be Friday

Funeral services will be held Friday for Mrs. Della Christensen, long-time Kennard resident who died Tuesday. Mrs. Christensen, in recent years, had been making her home at Crowell Memorial Home in Blair. She was the wife of the late Nels Peter Christensen, who died in 1957.

Della Lavinia Christensen was born March 13, 1890 in Blair. She grew up in the Blair and Kennard areas. For many years the couple farmed near Kennard. After retiring from active farming, they moved to Kennard where they made their home for a number of years.

She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Lyle Rosenbaum (Christine) of Kennard; Mrs. Ed Lautrup (Ruth) of Omaha; and Mrs. Clifford Staben (Rose) of Blair. A son, Charles Christensen lives at Kearney, Nebraska. There are 18 grandchildren and 19 great-grand-children.

Two brothers, Edward and Albert Lake reside in Blair. She has three surviving sisters. They are Mrs. Earl Akins of Goodrich, Minnesota; Mrs. Emma Probst, of Twin Falls, Idaho; Mrs. Martha Walther, of Oakland, California.

Funeral services will be at the Kennard Methodist church Friday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. The Rev. Elvin Bratton, of Arlington will conduct the service. He will be assisted by the Rev. F.W. Thomsen of Dana College.

Burial, under the direction of the Bendorf Funeral Home, will be in the Blair Cemetery.
