CHRIS CHRISTIANSEN DIED AT HOSPITAL EARLY SATURDAY

Chris Christiansen, well known and long-time farmer residing south of Kennard, died at Memorial Community Hospital early Saturday, April 11th.

Mr. Christiansen was a native of the Kennard area, having been born there October 1st, 1892. He was 77 years of age at the time of his death. As a younger man he was an active farmer and he developed a comfortable and attractive farm home on the Kennard-Washington road south of Kennard. In more recent years he had continued to live on the place but has not been actively engaged in operating the land.

The Christiansen farm has been a show place of flowers, bird houses, windmills and artistic fences which have been the product of the efforts of both Mr. and Mrs. Christiansen.

He is survived by his wife, the former Hanna Kunneman, and by a son and a daughter. The daughter is Mrs. Kenneth (Betty) Peterson, of Lincoln. The son is Calvin E. Christiansen, of Kennard. There are two grandchildren. A sister, Mrs. Mary Nielsen, lives at Blair and a brother, Andrew Christiansen, lives at Kennard.

Funeral services will be held at the Emmaus Lutheran Church at Kennard at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 14th. The Rev. Norman E. Schroeder, of Bennington will conduct the service and burial will be made in the Prairie View cemetery south of Kennard under the direction of the Campbell Mortuary.
