Dean Louis Goedeker was born December 3, 1933 to Louis and Augusta Claussen Goedeker at Omaha, Nebraska. He lived his entire life in the Bennington areas. He completed his elementary education at the Dornacker School and was graduated from the Bennington High School. Dean’s interests and activities centered around his family, and his farm which both his father and grandfather farmed before him.

Three children were born to him. They are Joan Marie, Dale Martin and Jerry Dean.

On June 24th, 1967, he was united in marriage to Marianne Scovil and became stepfather to: Michael Keith, Steven Walter, Teresa Carolyn, Lori Lynn and David Scott.

On August 9, 1971, he was baptized in the Christian Faith. He died August 13, 1971 at the age of 37 years, 8 months and 10 days.

He is preceded in death by his father, Louis.

He is survived by his mother Augusta Goedeker, his wife Marianne and 8 (eight) devoted children, all at home, other relatives and many friends.

Services were held at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bennington on Sunday, August 15 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Norman Schroeder officiating. The Hadan-Golden Mortuary was in charge. Pallbearers were John Meeves, Dean Johns, Glen Gottsch, Chester Auch, William Petersen, and Roland Gottsch. Interment was in the Flower Hill Cemetery.
