Elmer Lund Died August 20th

Mr. Elmer Lund, 68 years of age, passed away at the Good Shepherd Home Sunday morning, August 20th.

He and his wife have lived at the Good Shepherd Home since he suffered a severe heart attack in 1964. His wife is an invalid, having suffered a stroke 12 years ago.

Mr. Lund, a retired carpenter, was born near Kennard on October 10, 1898. He was baptized and confirmed in the Kennard Lutheran Church in 1921. On June 19, 1929 he was married to Alma Sorenson.

While a resident of Kennard he served as mayor and was a member of the Volunteer Fire Department and the Kennard School Board.

Survivors besides his wife Alma, are two brothers, John of Blair, and Carl, of Fremont, and one sister, Mrs. Ellen Jensen of Blair.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2 P.M. at the Kennard Lutheran Church. The Rev. Arden Dorn officiated. The Bendorf Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements and burial was in the Kennard Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Donald Sorensen, Harlan Christensen, Harry Svogerson, James Schneider, Clarence Matzen and Wally Voss.
