James R. "Jake" Strong, 84

James R. "Jake" Strong, 84, died Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013, at his home west of Blair.

A Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m.Wednesday, Nov. 13, at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church in Blair. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Blair following services. A luncheon will be served at the church following interment. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair with a rosary at 6 p.m.

James R. “Jake” Strong was born March 19, 1929, in Pontiac, Mich., to Charles and Doris (Storm) Strong.

He is survived by his wife, Mae; daughters Gwynne (Douglas) Madsen, Vicky (Nick) Emory, LuAnn (Anthony) Sulley, Sandra Crane, Pamela Ahart and Debra Headley; son Kurt Strong; stepchildren Sandra Patton and Gary Bodenstedt, Sharon (David) Larson and Donald (Barbara) Rican; 25 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by son Gregg, sisters Helen Rydbarg, Wanda Lewis and Gerrie Wolfe; and brother Gene Strong.

MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL Wednesday 10am at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church in Blair. VISITATION Tuesday at the funeral home with VISITATION from 6-8pm and vigil service at 6pm. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.
