Henry Menard, 68

Henry F. Menard, 68, of Tekamah, died suddenly at his Tekamah home on Sunday, December 20, 1987.

He was born at Chicago, Illinois, to John and Bertha Menard.

Henry was married to Josefina Brit on September 5, 1955, in the Republic of Panama.

Henry served in the U.S. Army during World War II, from which he retired as a Master Sergeant, having spent much of his military career stationed overseas.

He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Bataan Post No. 3304 of Tekamah, having served as Post Commander for two years from 1984-1986, and was a member of the Tekamah Post of the American Legion.

Henry was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Tekamah.

Survivors include his wife Josefina Menard of Tekamah; two sons: Perry (and his wife, Joan) Menard of Omaha and Patrick Menard of Lincoln; two sisters: Betty Medina of Wisconsin and Bernice Begovich of Illinois; four brothers: Charles Menard, George Menard, Oliver Menard and Raymond Menard, all of Illinois; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, John Menard and Eugene Menard.

Mass of Christian Burial was held Wednesday, December 23, 1987, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Tekamah with Fr. John McCaslin, Celebrant.

Interment was in the Blair Cemetery.

A Rosary Service was held Tuesday evening at the Hamel & Peck Funeral Home in Tekamah.
