Betty M. Rogert, 76, of Blair, died Wednesday, November 28, 2007, at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 1, at First Lutheran Church in Blair. Internment will be in the Blair Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 30, at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

Betty Mae Jorgensen was born Aug. 28, 1931, in DeSoto to Hans and Mae Jorgensen. The family lived in a number of towns across the Midwest including Fort Calhoun, Omaha, Blair, Topeka, Kan., Guyman, Okla., and Franklin, Ky.

On June 17, 1951, she married Emmett Rogert in Blair. Together, they would face the joys, challenges and celebrations of raising their children.

Mrs. Rogert enjoyed giving her time to a number of community organizations and causes. She particularly valued her time with First Lutheran Church, the Washington County Democrats, Blair Family YMCA, the MCH Auxiliary rummage sale, Blair Library, and the American Cancer Society

Bridge, reading, cooking and gardening were among her favorite interests.

In 1991, she began working for Parnassus, part of the humanities Department at Dana College. She loved being a part of the Dana community. The dear friends and experience she gained from Dana always remained an important part of her life.

Those fortunate enough to have known Mrs. Rogert knew her as a tireless worker, gifted listener; wise counselor; and loving wife, mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Angela and Robert Brickson of Overland Park, Kan., Sally and John Schroder of Fort Collins, Colo., Joan Rogert of Omaha, Patty and Rick Plugge of Blair, Jill and Phil Tobin of Des Moines, Iowa and Suzanne Rogert of Omaha; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Ada McGargill of Omaha and Harriet Potter of Sun City, Ariz; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Emmett; and son, John.

Memorials are suggested to First Lutheran Church, Good Shepherd Lutheran Home, and Memorial Community Hospital in Blair.
