GERALD L. STORK, 73

Arlington native Gerald L. Stork, 73, of Fremont, died Wednesday, April 13, 2005, at the A.J. Merrick Manor in Fremont.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 18, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Fremont. Interment will be in Fremont’s Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday, April 17, at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont, with the family receiving friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Visitation will also be held at the church Monday, one hour prior to services.

Gerald L. “Jerry” Stork was born April 26, 1931, in Arlington to Albert and Laura (Hilgenkamp) Stork. He grew up at Arlington and attended St. Paul Lutheran School near Arlington. He was a 1949 graduate of Fremont High School.

He farmed in the Arlington area with his brother, Verdell. He later worked as an independent sales agent for Conklin Products, and from 1984 until 1995, he was employed by Preventive Health Management Systems. Most recently, he was a greeter at Wal-Mart.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at Fremont, and served a Temple Mission in the Chicago Temple from 1995 to 1996 and served an Honorable Mission for the Winter Quarters Temple in Omaha.

He was married to Lila Giesselman; the couple later divorced. He married Leona Bruch Brinkman on Dec. 14, 1983 in Fremont.

He is survived by his wife, Leona; three sons and daughters-in-law, Dan and Cheryl Stork of York, Tim and Nancy Stork of Arlington, and the Rev. James and Nancy Stork of Huntington, Penn.; two daughters and a son-in-law, Pam Metzler, and Kim and Darian Dickmeyer, all of Arlington; brother and sister-in-law, Verdell and Deloris Stork of Arlington; eight step-children and their spouses, Wendy and Don Mahlendorf of Omak, Wash., Penny and Elijah Rae-Ellis of Tucson, Ariz., Terry and Pam Sperstad of Windsor, Colo., Sam Sperstad of Greeley, Colo., Jacqie and Rick Freund, Lori and Tom Brainard, Heidi and Keith Everly and Rebecka and Ray Iwan, all of Fremont; nine grandchildren; 31 step-grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Eugene Stork; and a step-daughter, Nancy Harris
