EARLY SETTLER BURIED MONDAY

Charles F. Peters, one of Washington’s best known citizens, died Friday, August 30, 1946.

He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Peters.

Mr. Peters was born on a farm near Washington, Nebraska, December 7, 1890, and was 55 years, 8 months and 23 days old at the time of his death.

He was married on January 10, 1923 to Katie A. Arp of Germany. They made their home on a farm west of Washington where they resided until they sold the farm this spring and bought a home in Washington, Nebraska.

Besides being engaged in farming, he was also a carpenter for the last 25 years.

He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.

Besides his wife, Katie, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Alvin (Lorraine) Arp of Kennard, Nebraska and Mrs. Harlan (Elfrieda) Plambeck of Valley, Nebraska and one son, Robert, at home. Three brothers and two sisters, Bill Peters of Washington, Otto and Fritz Peters of Elk City, Mrs. Wm. F Keiser (Minnie) of Waterloo, Nebraska and Mrs. Meta Jemper of Omaha, Nebraska and 2 grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday at 2 P.M. from Haden Mortuary at Bennington. Burial at Elk City.
