Edward T. Peters, 77

Edward T. Peters, 77, of Blair, died Thursday, Dec. 7, 2006, at the University Medical Center in Omaha.

Funeral services were Monday, Dec. 11, at Country Bible Church in Blair. Interment was in Fremont’s Memorial Cemetery.

Edward T. Peters was born Jan. 19, 1929, in Fremont to Donald T. and Matilda (Krause) Peters. He moved to California in 1940, and graduated from St. Augustine High School in San Diego, Calif.

He served in the United States Army during the Korean conflict.

In 1953. he married Mable Jean Hammond; the couple had three children.

He returned to Fremont and worked for Culligan Soft Water and loaded trucks for the Seven-Up Bottling Co. at night. In 1969, he began work for Magnus Metal, and worked there until his retirement in 1991.

In Blair, he met Delores Porter, whom he married on June 13, 1992. He also worked for the Blair Cemetery, and was a driver for Woodhouse Ford.

He enjoyed square dancing, playing cards, and reading Western novels.

He is survived by his wife, Delores; daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Ben Clark of Pataskala, Ohio, and Carol and Richard Blackburn of Grand Island; son and daughter-in-law, Ray and Christina Peters of Juniata; two stepchildren and their spouses, Ernie and Marian Porter of Nevis, Minn., ad Becky and Eric Buckner of Gardner, Kan.; nine grand-children; nine great-grandchildren, sister and brother-in-law, Lila and Jim Scheer of Fremont.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

SERVICES 10 am Monday Country Bible church. Burial in the Memorial Cemetery, Fremont, NE. VISITATION will begin 10am Sunday with family receiving friends from 6-8pm. In lieu of flowers memorials directed to family.
