Services for Geneva Peters, 83 of Fremont who died December 9, 1992 at A.J. Merrick Manor in Fremont were Saturday, December 12 at the Presbyterian Church in Fremont. Rev. Stephen Brownlee officiated. Burial was in Woodland Cemetery at North Bend.

Geneva Janssen was born September 5, 1909 in Hooper. She lived in rural Hooper until 1927. She then farmed with her husband northwest of North Bend. She moved into North Bend in 1943. She moved to Fremont in 1962.

She was a former member of United Presbyterian Church in North Bend, was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Fremont; the church circle and Mariner’s Club. She was a member of the Dodge County Extension Club for more than 50 years and was a recipient of the Senior Bowler of the Year award.

She married Ross Scott September 9, 1927 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He preceded her in death November 6, 1960.

She married Bud Peters September 1, 1973 in Fremont. He survives.

She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister in addition to her parents and first husband.

She is survived by her husband, Bud; a daughter, Nancy Lickteig of Fremont, a step-daughter, Carol Rethwisch of Wayne; two brothers, Earl of Nickerson and Waldo of North Bend; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont is in charge of arrangements.
