Services for Darlow D. Mencke, 54 of Fremont who died January 31, 1994 at Memorial Hospital of Dodge County in Fremont will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday, February 3 at Moser Memorial Chapel. Rev. Tom Shaw of the church of the Nazarene will officiate. Burial will be in Blair Cemetery.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 p.m.-9 p.m. and Thursday from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.

Darlow D. Mencke was born August 31, 1939 at Blair. He grew up at Kennard and graduated from high school there.

He farmed with his father in the Kennard area and later farmed on his own. While farming he raised prize winning purebred livestock and raised and sold fryers and breeding rabbits. He was active in several rabbit clubs and was often a judge at county fairs and rabbit shows.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hans and Ethel Peterson Mencke.

He is survived by sons, Jeff Mencke of Adolphus, Kentucky Troy Mencke of Blair and Tim Mencke of Nickerson; a special friend, Peggy Metschke of Fremont and two grandchildren.

Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont is in charge of arrangements.
