Ella S. Rohwer, 92, of Story City, Iowa, died April 29 2004 at Bethany Manor in Story City.

Graveside services and interment of her cremains will be held at 10 a.m. June 7 at Mr. Auburn Cemetery in Gretna. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church, 1725 S. 60th Street, Omaha, followed by a luncheon in the fellowship room at noon.

Ella S. Rohwer was born Sept. 2, 1911, in Bennington to Henry and Anna Mueller (Wesemann). She attended rural Bennington schools. In March 1936, she married Hans Claus Rohwer in Bennington. Mrs. Rohwer was a homemaker.

She was a member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Omaha, Ladies Aid Dorcas Circle, and Christy Heights Craft Group. Many of her handcrafted items were given to local hospitals and nursing homes. Mrs. Rohwer loved to entertain with her self-taught skills on the accordion and harmonica.

She is survived by her son, Ralph Rohwer of Sunnyvale, Calif.; two daughters, Claire Moore of Ames, Iowa, and Roseann Rohwer of Omaha; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two sisters, Anita Lauritson of Blair and Wanda Grebe of Tekamah; brother, Elmer Wesemann of Blair.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hans; daughter, Elaine, and a son, Marvin; and nine siblings.

Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Cancer Society.

Adams Funeral Home in Ames, Iowa, is in charge of arrangement.
