Services for Violet Rohwer, 92 of Blair who died March 5, 1995 at Crowell Memorial Home after a month long illness will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 7 at First United Methodist Church in Blair. Burial will be in the Fort Calhoun Cemetery at Fort Calhoun.

Violet Rohwer was born October 2, 1902 in Arlington to Detlef and Anna Dornacker Kruse. She moved to a farm outside of Fort Calhoun when she was 1 ½ years old. She continued to live on the same farm for 72 years.

She attended Green School District No. 49 in rural Fort Calhoun.

On February 21, 1924, she married Claus Rohwer in Blair. They left the farm in 1974, moving to Blair.

In 1991, she moved in with her daughter, Betz and lived there until her illness.

She belonged to several card clubs and was a member of the Better Homes and Garden Extension Club and the First United Methodist Church in Blair.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Claus on April 19, 1976; her parents; a son-in-law, Erick Larson; sisters Celia Tietgen, Frances Suverkrubbe, Dorothy Tietgen, Myrtle Eddie and infant sisters, Adele and Wilmiene.

She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Betty “Betz” and Don Woodhull of Blair and Marilyn Larson of Sloan, Iowa; eight grandchildren, Erica Larson, Curtis Larson, Carrie Larson, Kristi Hawks, Teresa Oldenkamp, Valarie Stamper, Brenda Woodhull and Donna Woodhull and 10 great-grandchildren.
