William H. Rohwer, 72, of Bellevue, Wash., died Aug. 30, 2004, from kidney transplant complications.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Sept. 10 at the Chapel of the Resurrection in Bothell, Wash., with interment with military honors at the Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, Wash.

William Harry Rohwer was born in 1932 in Omaha, and grew up in Fort Calhoun. During the Korean War, he enlisted in the United States Navy, where he served as a radar technician. While stationed in Yokosuka, Japan, he met and married his lifetime sweetheart, Kay Sato.

After his discharge from the military, the couple moved to southern California, where he worked for Hughes Aircraft and attended Cal-Poly Pomona, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in computer engineering.

In 1972, the family moved to Bellevue, Wash., where Mr. Rohwer worked for Boeing and later as a project manager for Honeywell Marine Systems, retiring in 1994.

He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, taking them camping, on numerous trips to Disneyland and many overnighters. He was a member of Calvary Chapel West Seattle.

Mr. Rohwer enjoyed good movies, watching football, especially the Nebraska Cornhuskers, shooting, and conservative politics.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Kay; son, William; daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Randy Leskovar; three grandchildren; sisters, Mary Ann Coburn of Pittsburg, Calif., Lucille Jean Meadows of Crestone, Colo., and Marjorie Ruth Hansen of Overland Park, Kan.
