Burtis Roosa, an old time resident of Blair, was injured in a runaway accident, Friday, March 3, and died the next day of his injuries at his home near Norden, Nebr.

Deceased was born in Tompkins County, N.Y., November 13, 1834. He was a member of the G.A.R., having served in Co. E. 3d Minnesota infantry during the Civil War. He was one of the early pioneers of Nebraska, coming to Blair in 1869, later living at Neligh and Chadron, and for the past eight years on a ranch near Norden.

He leaves a son and daughter, B. A. and Angie, living at home, and a daughter, Mrs. D.A. Cliff of Long Pine. His wife died in 1898 and was buried at Blair. Mr. Roosa was buried in the Norden Cemetery.
