GEORGE “BUD” CALDWELL, 72

Services for George David “Bud” Caldwell, 72 of Santa Monica, California and formerly of Blair who died August 1, 1992 in Santa Monica following a very brief illness were Thursday, August 6 in the Little Chapel of the Dawn of Gates, Kinglsy, Gates Funeral Home in Santa Monica. Rev. Chuck Wiggins officiated. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery at Santa Monica.

George Caldwell was born September 18, 1919 in Blair to William Leslie and Mary Ellen Young Caldwell. He graduated from Blair High School.

He moved to Southern California in 1940. He attended Santa Monica College.

He entered the Air Force in 1944. Upon his discharge from the service, he attended UCLA.

He then worked for Howard Hughes Aircraft and North American Aviation as a service engineer and missile service representative. He was also a flight inspector for Douglas Aircraft Co.

He retired from the industry in 1959 and was then active in real estate investments and developments in southern California.

He was very active for many years with Boy Scout Troop No. Two of Santa Monica. He participated in the 1966 World Jamboree trip to Japan and many other trips around the United States, Canada and Mexico.

He married Lehoma Houston in 1943.

He was preceded in death by one son, his parents, a sister, Orpha Reeh of Portland, Oregon and a brother, Jefferson Caldwell of Builey, Idaho.

He is survived by his wife, Lehoma; and one son, David lee Caldwell.
