KAREN J. CALLAWAY, 59

Karen J. Callaway, 59, of Fremont, died Aug. 27, 2004, at the Fremont Area Medical Center.

Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 31, at St. James Episcopal Church in Fremont. Interment will be in the Ridge Cemetery in Fremont.

Karen J. Callaway was born Dec. 1, 1944, in Fremont to Lawrence D. “Cab” and Maxine Callaway.

She was a lifetime resident of Fremont. She managed the local Diet Center for several years until 1984, then worked at Hammond & Stevens Co. for 10 years. She was a member of St. James Episcopal Church in Fremont.

On Oct. 30, 1975, she married Jim Porter in Fremont. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughters and a son-in-law, Cheri and Mark Grefe of Arlington, and Staci Briggs of Fremont; a son, Mike Goldsberry of Papillion; mother, Maxine Callaway of Fremont; brother and sister-in-law, Russell and Sandy Callaway of Fremont; and nine grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Memorials are suggested to the family.
