Mrs. P. Schneider Died at Blair Wed. Morning

Mrs. Peter Schneider of Ft. Calhoun died Wednesday morning at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair. Mrs. Schneider, who was 68 years old, was a lifetime resident of the Long Creek and Fort Calhoun vicinities. Mrs. Schneider was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Benck and was born in the Long Creek district October 7, 1900. She grew to womanhood in the Long Creek district, attending the Long Creek school.

On April 6, 1922, she was married to Peter C. Schneider of the adjoining Wranch school district and for many years the couple farmed in the Wranch district. They retired to Calhoun in 1963.

Eight children were born to the couple; two preceded Mrs. Schneider in death.

Survivors are her husband, Peter C. Schneider, two sons and four daughters. The sons are Robert Schneider of Fort Calhoun and William Schneider of Elkhorn, Nebraska. The daughters are Mrs. Gerald Storjohn (Geraldine) of Omaha, Mrs. Lawrence Meister (Clara Ann) of Fremont, Mrs. David Gearey (Wilma) of Lincoln and Mrs. Ray Clapper (Marilyn) of Fremont. Sons Stanley and Alvin preceded their mother in death.

A brother, George Benck, Jr. resides in Lincoln. There are 12 grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Ft. Calhoun Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Keith Sackett was in charge of the service and the Sievers Funeral Home of Ft. Calhoun conducted the burial service in the German Cemetery in the south part of Washington County.

Pallbearers were Ray Clapper, Stanley Gage, David Gearey, Lawrence Meister, Andrew Mommsen and Gerald Storjohn.
