MARY B. CAMENZIND, 94

Services were held Wednesday, April 1 at St. James Catholic Church in Omaha for Mary B. Camenzind who died March 28, 1992 at Immanuel Medical Center. Rev. Walsh conducted the service. Interment was at Calvary Cemetery in Omaha.

Mary Bertha Hadan was born October 29, 1897 to Frank Hadan and Anna Dall Hadan on a farm near Irvington. She was the oldest of four daughters.

She married Carl Joseph Camenzind March 30, 1921 at St. Barnards Church in Benson. They owned a dairy and sold milk all over Omaha. They moved to Irvington and continued to farm and run a dairy. They built a new home in 1957 on a corner of their farm in which to retire. Carl died in September 1963 but Mary continued to live in her house, raising a big garden, raising her flowers and having her chickens and selling her eggs to many Omaha customers.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter who died at birth, and a son, Carl Jr. who died in 1979.

Survivors are sons and daughters-in-law, Arthur and Luanna Camenzind; Clarence and Elaine Camenzind; daughter and son-in-law, Lorraine and James Smart; daughter-in-law Dorothy Camenzind; three sisters, Rose Knemeyer, Clara Hadan, Nancy Hadan, 11 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were her grandsons, Larry Camenzind, Lee Camenzind, Bruce Camenzind, Scott Camenzind, David Camenzind D.V.M., Randy Camenzind D.C., and James Smart, Jr. Honorary pallbearers were George Dunn, Joel Byrd, Bob Rix and Larry Pryor.
