Leonard Knudsen, 70, died Sunday, Nov. 24, 2013 at his home in Fremont.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 27, at the Blair Cemetery.

Leonard Knudsen was born Oct. 23, 1943, in Omaha, to Frode and Ethel (Smith) Knudsen.

He was raised in Blair and attended Blair Community Schools.

After high school, he worked as a cement finisher and then began working for Hormel Foods in Fremont in 1965. He was employed at Hormel for 42 years until he retired in 2007.

As a younger man, he enjoyed playing golf, bowling and billiards.

Hunting was always a lifetime passion for Mr. Knudsen. He loved spending time outdoors hunting deer, fishing and camping.

He is survived by his daughters, Kathy (Dale) Matter of Cedar Bluffs and Kelly Knudsen of Beatrice; two grandchildren; sisters Betty Minor of Blair and Jean Plant of New Hampshire; brother Alfred Knudsen of Herman; and several nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his son, Kendall.
