Mirtie Fagerquist, 88

Mirtie Fagerquist died Tues., Jan. 17, 1989, at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair.

Mirtie Fagerquist was born July 3, 1900, near Orum in Washington County, NE to Peter and Helena Paulson Toft and grew up there.

Mirtie Fagerquist was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith at the Danish Immanuel Lutheran Church in Orum. She moved to Fremont in 1919. She married Ray O. Fagerquist March 21, 1923 at Fremont. She and her husband farmed at Valley, NE. They had lived east of Arlington since 1948.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Helena Paulson Toft; one daughter, Marilyn J. Fagerquist; a brother, Earl Toft; and sisters, Gertrude Moyer and Rose Mae Larsen.

She is survived by her husband, Ray; sons and daughters-in-law, Eugene and Greta Fagerquist of Enumclaw, Washington; and Gerald and Patricia Fagerquist of Arlington; daughter, Elaine Larsen of Blair; daughters and sons-in-law, Maxine and Keith Meier and Jacqueline and Gary Grefe, all of Arlington; and Sharon and Douglas McGuire of Fremont. Nineteen grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren also survive her.

Services were Fri., Jan. 20, at 1:30 p.m. at Arlington Community Church in Arlington. Rev. Robert Saunders officiated. Burial was in Prospect Hill Cemetery at Elkhorn.

The organist was Ruby House. Melvin Misfeldt was soloist. Pallbearers were Kenneth Larsen, Rustin Fagerquist, Wesley Christensen, Elwin Shepard, Marvin Meier and Patrick Hoesing.

Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
