Ray O. Fagerquist, 93

Services for Ray O. Fagerquist, 93, of Arlington will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Arlington Community Church in Arlington. Rev. Lee Milligan will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time at the church. Burial will be a Prospect Hill Cemetery at Elkhorn.

Fagerquist died Feb. 17, 1995, at Arbor Manor in Fremont. He was born June 6, 1901, at Essex, Iowa, to Fred and Amanda (Johnson) Fagerquist. He moved to Valley in 1910 and farmed in the Valley area until 1937 when he moved to Arlington. He farmed north and east of Arlington until he retired in 1966. He came to Fremont three years ago and has resided at Arbor Manor for the last two years. He was a member of Arlington Community Church in Arlington, the Fraternal Order of Eagles #3215 at Blair and was a former member of Izaak Walton League at Fremont.

He married Mirtie Toft on March 21, 1923, at Fremont. She preceded him in death Jan. 17, 1989. Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Eugene and Greta Fagerquist of Enumclaw, Wash., and Gerald and Patricia Fagerquist of Arlington; daughters and sons-in-law Elaine Larsen of Blair, Maxine and Keith Meier and Jacqueline and Gary Grefe, both of Arlington, and Sharon and Douglas McGuire of Fremont; sister Viola Burley of Council Bluffs, Iowa, 19 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife and a daughter, Marilyn Fagerquist.

Memorials may be made to the Arlington Community Church.

Ray Oliver Julius Fagerquist

Ray Fagerquist, the son of Fred and Amanda (Johnson) Fagerquist, was born June 6, 1901 at Essex, Iowa. He moved to Valley, NE in 1910, and later farmed in that area until 1937. He then moved to Arlington and farmed north and east of Arlington until he retired in 1966. He then moved to Fremont 3 years ago and has resided at Arbor Manor the last 2 years.

Ray was a member of the Arlington Community Church at Arlington; the Fraternal Order of Eagles #3215 at Blair; and was a former member of the Fremont Izaak Walton League. He married Mirtie Toft on March 21, 1923 at Fremont, NE. She died on January 17, 1989. Ray is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Eugene and Greta Fagerquist of Enumclaw, Washington and Gerald and Patricia Fagerquist of Arlington, Nebraska; daughters and sons-in-law, Elaine Larsen of Blair, Nebraska, Maxine and Keith Meier and Jacqueline and Gary Grefe all of Arlington, and Sharon and Douglas McGuire of Fremont; sister, Viola (Mrs. Clarence) Burley of Council Bluffs, Iowa; 19 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and a daughter, Marilyn Fagerquist.
