MARIE CAMPBELL, 71

Marie Campbell, 71, died August 5, 1987.

She was born November 3, 1916, in Decatur to Herman and Helen Hillman. Her father died at an early age, leaving her mother with four children, Marie and three brothers, who have all preceded her in death.

Her mother then moved to Blair, went to work in the Blair Canning Factory, and purchased the home that Marie lived in until her death.

In 1931, she married Deb Campbell of Blair. They were married 51 years. He preceded her in death, August 20, 1982.

They owned and operated the Lil’Duffer in Blair until retirement.

She is survived by one daughter, Helen Wetzel of Omaha, and two sons, Charles (Buzz) of Blair and Vernon of Ridge, New York, and by 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Services were held at 10 a.m., Saturday, August 8, 1987, at the First United Methodist Church in Blair with Dr. Howard Bailey officiating.

Organist was Katy Flynn and vocalist was Tim Fischer.

Pallbearers were Russ Campbell, Joe Foral, Kevin Hall, Terry Perkins, Mark Wetzel, and Sam Wetzel.

Burial was in the Blair Cemetery.

Campbell Funeral Home of Blair handled the arrangements.
